The Journey Unfolds..

It is always stressful to begin a new thing; having a new job, meeting new people or even registering a new course. Even though it may be hard at first, it begins to be more fun as we get used to it.

When I first entered the class as a “teacher” I was so nervous, I panicked regardless of all the presentations that were done at the university and the teaching experiences in the practicum course to the extent that I forgot the morning routine songs that I already know!
Having this experience as a teacher allowed me to know my strengths as well as knowing my weaknesses; I know now that I have to work more on controlling anger, being patient and managing time. On the other hand, I know that I'm good at taking care of the students, reaching different types of learners and engaging students in the teaching- learning process. The key to success, in my opinion, is hard work and experience; everyone needs hard work and practice to acquire the desired experience. It's not about falling, it's about knowing when and how to get up after falling because mistakes are the roads that lead us to the right things.
I remember in Practicum 2 we did a similar journal talking about our strengths in teaching as well as mentioning our weaknesses and how to improve them. Self evaluation is really important to be done continuously mainly because I noticed how beneficial it was for me while shaping my identity as a teacher.
